CARNE Y FUEGO

After “Éramos”, a song composed by Miguel José, it was Phelan's turn for the band's next song. Initially Phelan proposed “Playa Blanca”, a song that he had already published years ago with another band. But then, he preferred to contribute an unreleased song, totally rock and roll, also composed at that time.

In Phelan's words: “I wanted to do something that had to do with leather and classic rock songs, so I started talking about someone who wanted to release some frustrations derived from feeling less in front of people who were having a good time because they were cooler. In the chorus part I was thinking of putting a couple of strong words like "dust and bones", but that's the name of a Guns N' Roses song, so I went for leather and something else, but it already seemed used to me, so it crossed my mind the title of Poison's song “Flesh and Blood”, and I wanted to put "carne y sangre" (in Spanish), but to be more different I used flesh and fire…” And in this way the title of the song in Spanish “Carne Y Fuego” came about.

Thus, on August 8, Phelan recorded guitars and lead vocals at MCA Studios with Recording Engineer Miguel Ángel Yance. For his part, Vitto, from Athens, Georgia, recorded the first drum version. Six days later, on August 19, Phelan, Toño and Miguel José met at MCA Studios to record the bass and back vocals of the song, and on the 22nd Phelan made corrections to the guitars.

On September 2, Vitto sent the final version of the drums. On September 3, Phelan and Miguel José begun the drum and bass mix of “Carne Y Fuego”, always together with Miguel Ángel Yance from MCA Studios. On Friday, September 8, Miguel José recorded winds on the keyboards, and the next day, the 9th, Phelan and Miguel José met again at MCA Studios for the final mix of the song (guitars, keyboards and vocals).

On September 10, “Carne Y Fuego” was sent to be mastered by Aldo Gilardi-Magnan at Hitmakers Mastering (Lima), and later that same day, with the song already mastered, it was uploaded to Distrokid for distribution.

“Carne Y Fuego” was released worldwide in streaming on September 18, 2023 on all musical platforms and social networks.
